The art direction for this cover called for a design which complemented the author's website.

The tone of the site is sophisticated but friendly, using sepia-toned images along with sage green, terra cotta and muted purple colours.

I found an image of a young couple lying on the grass dreaming of their future together and felt it was dynamic, interesting and unusual, attracting the intended audience. With a sprig of ivy (organically approved!) as a decorative element, the title was placed on a curve to wrap the couple together and reflect the creative aspect of planning an 'organic wedding'. The open space at the bottom symbolized traditional bridal white.

Upon presentation of the comps to the author we realized their expectations in matching the website was much more literal. They asked that the design nearly match their actual site page design, resulting in the final cover on the right.
